LECTURES & TALKS
Margreth Olin is happy to give lectures at small and large events. She has good experience in leading master classes. She is also open to being interviewed or having a conversation with a partner on stage. Please contact for booking or more information.
These are the lectures she currently focuses on (also in Norwegian). She shows film clips, reads and tells stories.
Nature is our home
Film director and author Margreth Olin will take the audience on a hike in the high mountains and on the Jostedalsbreen glacier through four seasons. We follow in the footsteps of her 85-year-old father. Throughout the year, Olin goes from fear to acceptance and gratitude. The film Songs of Earth and the novel Song for Mother are the starting point for this meeting with Margreth, her parents and their love for nature.
Tenderness for human dignity
When vulnerability becomes strength in human encounters and in storytelling. Through a number of films, Olin has portrayed people in difficult life situations. In this lecture, Olin reflects on challenges, hope and gifts shared. The vulnerable, searching human being in the face of systems and institutions. Films such as In The House of Angels, My Uncle, Raw Youth, Childhood, Doing Good and The Self Portrait are the starting point for this lecture.
Ømhet for menneskeverdet
The pleasure and art of storytelling
Margreth demonstrates what storytelling is in her lectures and allows the audience to experience the art. For her, film and literature are about giving the audience and readers a deeper, more sensual experience. She talks about how she takes her visions seriously, about the ability to execute what triggers a talent, about observation, quiet listening and the ability to contain emotions being crucial tools for her. This lecture is suitable for film students and anyone who works with communication.
